My Top Fat Loss Tips for 2023!

Check out my top 6 Fat Loss Tips for staying on track and hitting your goal in 2023!

Some absolutely golden bits of advice if you are looking to achieve a fat loss goal in 2023 or even if you are currently on your journey. If you aren't implementing my top tips into your plan already you could be making it harder for yourself!

Tip #1 - Calories!

Yes, let's get that out the way early doors. If you haven't already, calculate your maintenance calorie intake and subtract that total by 300 calories so you are in a calorie deficit.

Tip #2 - Track!

Now, it's all well and good changing your diet and start to eat a healthier diet. But in the grand scheme of these this could really mean anything and doesn't mean that you are now going to start losing weight.

If you aren't tracking your calories and eating in a calorie deficit you could potentially be wasting all your time and effort. If you aren't in a calorie deficit you are not going to be using stored body fat as energy.

Doesn't matter if you are eating healthy or unhealthy!

MyFitnessPal is a great app to use.

Tip #3 - Start Slow!

The easiest part about starting a weight loss diet is getting started.

You are full of motivation and raring to go. You'll probably throw in all your effort and energy first thing only to then give up because what you are doing is not maintainable.

My top tip here is to start slow.

Set yourself realistic targets that you could maintain 3 months from now! Don't set yourself unreal targets that you can't maintain.

Start with the minimum dose and slowly adapt your calories or exercise to put yourself in a greater deficit when your fat loss stalls.

Tip #4 - Measure!

Make sure you measure your progress on your weight loss journey.

I would recommend to track your weight daily. Naturally this will fluctuate and sometimes it will go up before it goes down. This is normal! By doing this daily we can calculate the average for the week and track the weekly average weigh-in as opposed to the daily weigh-in.

Besides measuring your weight you can also take measurements of your body parts and take photos.

Measure your chest, waist, hips, and thigh and repeat this every week. You can also do the same with progress photos. Taking a photo of your front, side and back with minimal clothing so you can easily see areas where you are seeing a reduction in body fat.

By measuring these 3 methods we are able to get a clear insight to how well we are progressing on our weightless journey.

Tip 5# - Don't Be A Stiff!

Take a flexible diet approach in your weight loss journey. The chances are that a large portion of your diet will have to change. For obvious reasons. However, try not to restrict foods that you enjoy eating. There is absolutely nothing wrong with eating so called 'unhealthy foods' if it is apart of a balanced caloric-controlled diet. If we take a super restrictive approach and ban foods in our diet can lead to serious consequences such as going through stages of binging and restricting.

The main reason we gain weight is because of eating too many calories. Not because of the foods we consume.

If we can get a control of our calorie intake, start to eat more healthier foods, whilst maintaining a balance of foods we enjoy eating we will be able to stay consistent throughout our weight loss journey.

Tip #6 - You Will Fuck Up!

No weight loss journey is ever perfect. You will fuck up and you will fall off the wagon.

It happens.

One bad day shouldn't determine your outcome. Allow room for error and be prepared for fuck ups.

Know that it won't always be a smooth sailing process.

Consistency is key!

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post and I hope you found my 6 fat loss tips helpful.

I wish you a happy new year and happiness and success in 2023!
